collabs are our jam, and why we champion indi artists
There’s this moment when you see an artist’s work and your whole chest lights up. The colours, the cheek, the personality of it. And you think, more people need to see this. That feeling is exactly why artist collabs became such a big part of what we do. 🫶🏻
the world is full of rad makers
This world is full of some pretty rad artists, creators and makers. Brilliant, colourful, bold humans making work that deserves to be seen and celebrated and worn and stitched into things people love.
The Colour Collab is here to champion them on. To celebrate them and share them with you. Our artists are the bees-knees and we genuinely love collaborating with them. Collabs are our jam, and we mean it.
meet the collaborators
Right now we’ve got a couple of lovely humans whose work we’re lucky to print.
Carly B brought us Treasure Box. She’s a whimsy sewist and YouTuber whose joyful, playful style fits the brand like a glove. If you love a print with personality, this one’s for you.
Rachel Parker brought us Brightside. Bright by name, bright by nature, exactly the kind of bold colourful work that makes you grin.
And of course there’s my own signature work, the Aussie Nostalgia prints that started the whole thing. But honestly, opening the door to other artists is the part that lights me up most these days.
how the collab actually works
Here’s the bit we care a lot about getting right. Artists keep their copyright, always. Their work stays theirs. We license the designs for fabric printing, so the artist gets their work out into the world on gorgeous fabric, and you get to make something with a print that came from a real, named, talented person.
No faceless mass produced design. A human made it. We just helped it find its way onto fabric and into your hands. That matters to us.
why it matters to you too
When you sew with a collab print, you’re part of that chain. You’re supporting an independent artist, you’re celebrating colourful work, and you’re making something with a real story behind it. That’s a lovely thing to wrap a kid in or hang on a wall or wear out to coffee.
Championing indi artists is a load bearing pillar of this brand, not a nice extra. Where colour, craft and community collide, that’s the whole idea, and artists are right at the heart of it.
Come have a browse of the collab collections, and join The Colour Collab Club to be first to know when new artist prints drop. There are good things coming. 🌈
